2 Groundhog Day Target Matchplay Groundhog Day Target Matchplay Starts: 1:00 PM Ends: February 2, 2025 - 5:00 PM Location: Little Dipper Bar, 304 Main St, Houston, TX 77002, USA Description: Tournament Date: February 02, 2025 We're excited to announce our first target match-play tournament at Little Dipper! in honor of Groundhog Day, players will be drawn on the same game against the same opponents all day for every round. Just kidding! (Or am I?) Location: Little Dipper Event Date: Saturday, February 2nd Time: 1 PM Format: Target Match Play Entry Fee: $10 plus coin drop 100% of your entry fee goes into player pay-outs (top 4 in A and top 4 in B) Qualification Rounds: Players will be placed into four-player groups (occasionally three-player) to compete on an individual, randomly selected machine. Points will be awarded based upon performance on that machine (4/3/2/1) and added to a running total for the tournament. A player qualifies for finals by reaching or passing a target value of 17 points at which point the player no longer competes in the qualification rounds. Match play will continue until all available final positions are filled. Final Rounds: -Top 8 go to ‘A’ finals, next 8 go to ‘B’ finals -Players with WPPR rankings 1-1000 will be restricted from playing in ‘B’ finals -4 player groups scored 4/2/1/0 -Groups will be arranged by seed (1st/4th/5th/8th and 2nd/3rd/6th/7th) -Semi-finalists will play a simultaneous 4-game semi-finals with top two from each group advancing to finals (same format as semis) Schedule is as follows: Registration/check-in and practice: from 1pm-1:25pm Qualifying match play rounds: start promptly at 1:30 pm and continue until all finals slots are filled Finals: to begin as soon as all spots are filled IFPA sanctioned if you're into that sort of thing. Space Cadets will test their skills to manipulate physical matter using electricity and mechanical engineering constructs. Course Instructions: SCPL Cadets will assembly in small study groups of 3-4. Each group will attempt to outperform their group peers in a test of skill on one of the specialized electromechanical PhysXXX simulators available. SCPL Cadets will perform 3 rounds of 2 games each class session. The series will be 6 weeks long with a minimum attendance of 4 weeks.
