Holiday Toy Drive

Space City Pinball will once again be collecting unwrapped toys this holiday season. This year we will be supporting the Star of Hope. Bring a toy to a tournament listed below.

Star of Hope community supports some of Houston’s homeless men, women and children. They encourage positive life changes through programs in spiritual growth, education, employment, life management and substance abuse recovery.

Space City Pinball League turns 5!

To celebrate our anniversary, we teamed up with league member and NASA artist Blake Dumesnil and Silverball Swag to offer new SCPL t-shirts, hoodies, and swag! There are a variety of options and shirt colors to choose from. Visit the online store anytime right here on our website. All proceeds benefit the league.

Strike Out Cancer: Benefit Pinball Tournament

SCPL Raises $900 For Project Pinball

Wow! What an awesome tournament! Space City Pinball League in conjunction with Project Pinball’s Love Across America Tour 2019, changed our July monthly match play tournament at The Game Preserve to a Project Pinball Charity Tournament! Thank you to everyone who came out to make our fundraiser an overwhelming success! On the pinball side, Phil Grimaldi took home The Grimaldi in a close playoff against Craig Squires, Lee Balusek and Rob Torres, while Preston Moncla triumphed in the B division.

The real story for Space City though was how our community came together to raise $760.00 for Project Pinball plus another $125 online for a total of almost 900 dollars! Thanks to all of the players, especially those of you who bought tickets to the raffle and who bought our silent auction items. A huge thank you to Rebecca Cook, who rallied everyone into donating items for the auction, organized the silent auction, and was the force behind the fundraising! She really made this happen; thank you Rebecca. Thanks also to the folks who donated items: The Rodon’s, the Nebeker’s, the Cooks, Raleigh Palis, Hair by Sarah Rollings, Over the Top Cupcakes, Trixie’s Coffee, Emergent VR Encounter, Killer Kaiju Comics, to Michael Cook, who gathered donations. A special thanks goes to The Game Preserve for paying our IFPA fees and for donating a 3 month family membership for our gift basket, won by Russ Kalinowski. Our efforts truly make a difference in our community. Over the last year Project Pinball has donated two machines to Houston-area children’s hospitals. Incredible job Space City Pinball League!

Project Pinball

This fall Space City Pinball League has teamed up with The Game Preserve Arcade to raise funds for Project Pinball charity. Our November Monthly Matchplay tournament will include a high-score side tournament on Houdini, which costs $1/play to support Project Pinball. SCPL will provide prizes for the top players. The league also hosted a Critical Hit tournament in August. Twenty-six players battled it out beginning with a card auction to shatter scores with invulnerability spells and confuse opponents by switching games and groups. Congratulations to Fred Revnew, David Pollock, and Elizabeth Dronet for using their “special powers” to dominate the day.

Through both financial donations and volunteer repair work, Project Pinball has placed nearly 40 pinball machines in children’s hospitals across the United States. They are currently working towards purchasing a pinball machine for Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. So far, $4000 has been raised, which is 50% of the goal!
